“A single Ukrainian long-range strike drone costs around $200,000,” explained freelance journalist David Kirichenko, who has written for the Center for European Policy Analysis in Washington, D.C. “They can hit targets more than 1,000 miles inside Russia. Ukraine is aiming to produce around 30,000 in 2025.”
“Leading the charge is Ukraine’s 14th UAV Regiment, now a specialized long-range strike unit,” Kirichenko added. “They began with civilian gear, but today they field advanced drones.”
“Ukraine now produces 80-90 percent of the drones used by the 14th UAV Regiment, and their capabilities surpass many Western equivalents, largely as a result of rapid feedback from the battlefield.”
