The advances in Drone tech Ukraine has achieved, and will continue to advance, is awe inspiring and terrifying at the same time.

Considering that Russia is simply countering with more soft body targets and not counter drone tech appears we are at a potential inflection point in the war.

Suddenly, Ukraine may be the country who can withstand the human capital involved in a long term full scale war.

Is this a misreading?

…yes to some extent, EU needs to get their shit together and organize against putin to stand with Ukraine, no more help from US, at least i wouldn’t count on it

I agree with that, but is it necessary with the drone tech? Honest discussion question.

… it’s a future of warfare and it’s going to be only bigger

That’s a bit scary though, don’t you think? Strange place to be in to be happy aggressors are being lit up by cheap tech but… what if it turned against the people?

I think it will lead to some bizarre situations in future combat. A fighter might be willing to give his life to take out someone invading his country, but would someone risk their life to destroy a drone? Maybe not. Also, if a country relies on drone technology for combat, what happens when they lose? Will countries still maintain a traditional military as a back up?

If you look at occupational ratio for military to control a population, for a country as big as the US drones are inevitable for martial law and suspension of due process.

…only people can turn it “against people” and it’s already a reality

Right, but what happens when it’s the bad guys using the tech. That’s what I’m getting at.
