Ukrainian Drones Killed Or Maimed 900 Russians in 36 Hours
According to Ukraine's top drone commander
Ignoring the Ukrainian counteroffensive eating into Russian defenses just to the north, the Russian 5th Combined Arms Army is doubling down on its own offensive west of the town of Huliaipole in southeastern Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
At least one mapper and analyst believes the 5th CAA and adjacent Russian formations have the edge along the Huliaipole axis as they aim to march the 50 miles through the town of Orikhiv all the way to the free city of Zaporizhzhia and its 700,000 pre-war residents.
The Russians “appear to be operating with confidence despite ongoing Ukrainian counter-pressure,” Vitaly concluded.
But that confidence risks turning into overconfidence—and risks getting a lot of Russians killed. According to Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, more than 900 Russians were killed or wounded in a series of botched assaults along a 60-mile front stretching from Huliaipole in the south to Dobropillia farther north between March 17 and 18.
If confirmed, the 900 Russian casualties—including around 500 fatalities—would rank as the second-biggest one-day kill tally the USF has ever logged.
